Achieving a Sustainable Future in the Tissue Business
Wilfried Laser, Senior Sales Manager of Optima Group Nonwovens, Germany will be one of the speakers at the conference.
His presentation will show a new packaging method of tissue paper into polyethylene bags with the integration of reasonable product compression during the packaging process. The finally packed product comes out as a nice, tight, compact package which is easy to palletize without using carton boxes for the secondary packaging. The foil packages hold up to 33% more products when compared to cardboard of the same dimensions. The press capacity allows perfectly adapted product compression without any quality deficits.
Due to the foil package, the number of truck loads required for transporting the packaging material alone is significantly reduced as well as for the transport of the final packages. Further cost savings are achieved by the packaging material itself.
Altogether, the new packaging method gives a high potential in cost saving on packaging material, warehouse storage, shelf space and logistics and it is very environmental friendly.
